For Parents and Guardians (Baselink AI)

Version v1.1.0 · Effective 2026-09-24 · Translated 2026-09-16

This page brings together what we would like parents and guardians to know about their child using "Baselink AI."

If your child is under 16, their use of the Service (including consent to the handling of personal information) requires the consent of a parent or guardian. In addition, if your child is a minor (under 18), then regardless of their age, use of the Service itself requires the consent of a parent or guardian, and in particular, applications that cost money, such as purchasing Coins or coaching contracts, require the consent of a parent or guardian (as set out in the Terms of Service). To help you decide whether to give consent, please read this page first. On this page, "parents and guardians" means persons with parental authority and others who legally represent the child (statutory representatives).

This is not a summary of the terms. We have written only what you need for that decision, as directly as we can.

1. What kind of app is this?

It is an app in which your child films baseball practice and play on video, and AI analyzes their form and offers hints for improvement.

On top of that, it has the following three characteristics. This is the part we most want parents and guardians to know.

Characteristic What it means
It is an SNS Videos your child posts and their analysis scores are made available to other users
They can interact with people they do not know There is a direct message feature (children under 13 may use it only where the guardian has given consent)
They can spend money They can purchase Coins and receive paid instruction from Coaches

We explain each in turn.

2. Posts are set to "public" by default

When posting, the visibility setting defaults to "public."

If a post is made while set to public, the video, its title and body text, and the AI analysis score become viewable by users of the Service, regardless of whether those users follow your child.

We also want to tell you the limits of the "private" setting. Due to the way delivery works, the video converted for playback and the thumbnail image are placed in a state where anyone who knows the URL can view them, even without being logged in to the Service. The URLs are difficult to guess, but if a URL reaches a third party, that person can view the content. Please tell your child not to post footage they do not want others to see.

In addition, the following information is always disclosed to other users as their profile (separately from the visibility settings of posts).

Nickname, user ID, profile image, cover image, self-introduction text, gender, prefecture, fielding position, throwing hand and batting side, playing experience, favorite players, current challenges, team or school they belong to, external links (links to SNS accounts and the like), follow/follower lists, and number of posts.

If your child puts a link to another SNS account on their profile, every user of the Service becomes able to reach it. Please check once whether it should be on your child's profile.

Email addresses and dates of birth are not disclosed to other users.

3. About message exchanges

The Service has direct messages, which let users interact one-on-one or in groups. Your child can also interact with people they have never met.

Children under 13 may use direct messages with other users only where the guardian has given consent. This consent is obtained specifically for the message feature, separately from consent to use the Service as a whole. A mechanism that checks this consent within the app, and a mechanism that restricts use automatically according to age, are currently being prepared. Until they are ready, we ask that you check at home before a child under 13 uses the message feature. When the mechanisms are ready, we will update this page to let you know.

Please also note the following where you do give consent. Messages can be exchanged with people your child does not know. The matters described below in this section (that messages are not encrypted, that part of the message body appears in notifications, and that the app cannot automatically stop messages from adults to your child) apply regardless of whether consent has been given.

Something we should tell you now: Currently, there is no feature for reporting messages and comments themselves (posts, and the other user themselves, can be reported). If something troubling happens in messages or comments, please contact info@sportstechjapan.com. Attaching a copy of the screen that shows which exchange it concerns will help us respond faster. We are working on changes to allow messages and comments to be reported directly.

The Community Guidelines tell children the following. It would help us greatly if you could talk these over with your child as well.

About messages from adults to your child: The Community Guidelines limit one-on-one messages from adults (including Coaches) to minor users to what is necessary, such as exchanges for instruction under a coaching contract, and prohibit demands to keep things secret, exchanging private contact details, giving presents or Coins, and private requests for photos or videos. However, at present there is no feature that automatically detects or blocks these in the app, or that notifies parents and guardians. We recommend that you look over your child's messages together from time to time. If words such as "a secret between us" or "don't tell anyone at home" appear, that is a danger sign.

4. About the parts that cost money

There is a system called Coins.

About Coaches: Coaches are registered after applying through the Company's designated application form and being interviewed by the Company. However, the career history, qualifications, and track record shown are based on their own declarations, and the Company does not certify all of them. When deciding whom to ask for instruction, please look carefully at the posted information and decide together with your child.

Points we ask you to note:

If you want to stop purchases themselves, device-side settings are effective.

Device Method
iPhone / iPad Go to "Settings" → "Screen Time" → "Content & Privacy Restrictions" → "iTunes & App Store Purchases" and set In-App Purchases to "Don't Allow"
Android In the Google Play app, go to "Settings" → "Authentication" and set "Require authentication for purchases." If you use Family Link, you can also set "Purchase approvals"

Note: menu names and locations may differ depending on your device and OS version. For the latest procedures, please check Apple's and Google's guidance pages.

5. About chatting with the AI

There is a feature that lets your child consult an AI about baseball concerns and analysis results.

6. About advertising

Advertisements are displayed in the Service (we use Google's AdMob).

For children under 13, and where no date of birth is registered, the Company applies the following settings.

Where the date of birth is unknown, we err on the side of safety and apply the same settings.

About children aged 13 or over: The threshold for parental consent (under 16) and the threshold for this advertising setting (under 13) rest on different underlying frameworks, so we have deliberately set them at different ages. Children aged 13 or over may be shown advertising tailored to their interests (personalized advertising). If you do not want it shown, you can stop it in the device settings.

Device Method
iPhone / iPad Go to "Settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Tracking" and turn off permission for this app
Android Go to "Settings" → "Google" → "Ads" and select "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or "Delete advertising ID"

Note: menu names and locations may differ depending on your device and OS version. For the latest procedures, please check Apple's and Google's guidance pages.

Even if you stop it, advertisements themselves will continue to be displayed (they become advertisements not based on interests).

The Company never uses videos, skeletal data, analysis results, or the contents of messages for advertising.

7. What information do you collect?

The main items are as follows. For details, see the Privacy Policy.

About skeletal data: Skeletal data expresses the characteristics of body movement as numbers. The Company treats it as information relating to the person's physical characteristics that may call for particularly strict handling under laws and regulations, and handles it with care. We will not use videos or skeletal data for AI training or research until we have obtained the individual consent of your child (or of the parent or guardian, if the child is under 16) (except where handled as statistical information that cannot identify individuals). Consent can be withdrawn at any time. For details, see Article 2 of the Privacy Policy.

Videos, skeletal data, account information, message body text, and Coin records are stored within Japan (Microsoft Azure East Japan region). Files attached to messages, such as images and videos, are stored on Google's services (including data centers outside Japan). Some data, such as analysis results, is also stored in Google's databases. For details, see the Privacy Policy.

8. What parents and guardians can do

As a parent or guardian, you can request any of the following at any time. No fee is charged.

  1. To see your child's information (disclosure)
  2. To have it corrected because it is wrong (correction)
  3. To have it deleted (deletion / suspension of use)
  4. To stop the provision of videos to a Coach (this takes the form of stopping future transmissions. What has already been sent remains on the Coach's screen as message history. If this concerns you, please contact the inquiry desk)
  5. To withdraw consent once given
  6. To delete the account itself

How to make a request at present: Please contact info@sportstechjapan.com. After confirming that you are the child's parent or guardian, we will respond without delay.

Note that the account can also be deleted from the settings screen of your child's app.

9. About confirming consent (telling you where things stand)

Currently, there is no mechanism in the app to confirm consent with parents and guardians and keep a record of it. We are moving forward with consideration toward introducing one, but the timing is undecided.

For that reason, at present, the Service works by having the child themselves perform the operation of agreeing to the Terms of Service at registration. Confirming with parents and guardians, and recording it, are not yet built into the app as features.

Once introduced, we plan to have parents and guardians confirm consent themselves and to keep a record of it (we will revise this page to explain the specific confirmation method when it is introduced). We also plan to let parents and guardians check the status of their consent and withdraw it.

How to give consent in the meantime: If you consent to your child's use, please write to info@sportstechjapan.com with your name as parent or guardian, your child's user ID, and a statement that you consent. The Company will keep that email as the record of your consent. If you do not consent, or wish to withdraw consent once given, please contact the same desk. We will respond on an individual basis.

10. Things to go over together with your child

Finally, here is a summary of what we would like you to tell your child.

For times when your child finds it hard to talk even to you, please also let them know about Childline (a phone line for children up to age 18: 0120-99-7777, every day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., free of charge) as a place they can turn to.
