Baselink AI Privacy Policy

Version v1.0.0 · Effective 2026-09-11 · Translated 2026-09-04

SportsTech Japan, Inc. (the "Company") sets out below how it handles users' personal information in connection with "Baselink AI" (the "Service").

The Service is a service that combines the following four characteristics. This Policy has been established with these four in mind.

  1. It is a service that analyzes videos with AI. Videos contain a great deal of information that can identify individuals
  2. It is a social networking service (SNS). Videos you post, analysis scores, and your profile are, by default, made widely available to users of the Service
  3. It is a service in which users can interact with each other directly (direct messages, and paid coaching contracts with Coaches)
  4. Many of its users are minors

The Personal Information Protection Policy posted on the Company's corporate website sets out the Company's policy as a whole. For the Service, this Policy applies in priority.

Article 1 (Information We Collect)

The Company collects the following information.

(1) Information users provide

Account and profile information

Information Required or optional Disclosure to other users
Email address Required Not disclosed
Date of birth Required (used for determining minor status and for advertising settings) Not disclosed
Nickname (display name), user ID Required Disclosed
Profile image, cover image, self-introduction text, gender, prefecture, external links Optional Disclosed
Invitation code (if you have one) Optional Not disclosed

Information about your sport (all optional): Fielding position, throwing hand and batting side, playing experience, favorite players, current challenges, team or organization you belong to, school you attend, and whether you play hardball or rubber-ball baseball. Except for the hardball/rubber-ball distinction, this information is disclosed to other users.

(2) Information users post and send

Posts:

This information is disclosed in accordance with the visibility setting of each post. The default visibility setting is "public." For details of the scope of disclosure, see Article 4.

About videos in which other people appear: When posting a video in which someone other than yourself appears, please obtain the consent of the person shown (or, if they are a minor, their guardian) before posting. If a person who appears in a video requests deletion, the Company may take measures such as deleting the post.

Messages:

The Company may have authorized personnel review the contents of messages only where necessary to respond to reports, investigate misuse or violations of the Terms, respond to requests based on laws and regulations, or investigate failures. We do not view them for any other purpose.

Push notifications informing you that a message has been received may contain the sender's name and part of the message body. Notifications can be turned off in your device and app settings.

Reports: If a post or a user is reported, we record the reporter's user ID, the subject of the report, the category, and the written reason for the report. We never inform the person who was reported of who reported them.

(3) Information generated and collected through your use of the Service

Information generated by analysis:

When you post a video, the evaluation score is also displayed to other users in accordance with the visibility setting of that post.

Information about activity on the SNS: Follow/follower relationships, likes, bookmarks, view counts, comments, block settings, number of posts, and date and time of last use. Your follow/follower lists, number of likes, and number of posts are disclosed to other users.

Information about Coins and billing: Coin balance and the history of increases and decreases, purchase records and receipts via app stores, subscription status, and the contents of coaching contracts (the other party, plan, duration, number of Coins paid). The Company never collects or holds credit card numbers or other payment information. Payments are processed by Apple/Google.

Device and usage information: Device identifier (a device ID generated by the app), OS type and version, device model, language and region settings, app version, records of screen views and operations, operation records (crashes, display speed), IP address, advertising identifier, and push notification token.

Consent records: Records of which version of the terms and policies you consented to. The mechanism for storing these records is currently in preparation, and we will begin collecting them once the mechanism has been implemented (Article 9).

(4) Information obtained from external services

If you use LINE Login or Sign in with Apple, we obtain identifiers, display names, email addresses, and similar information from that service. We never obtain your LINE chat contents or friends list.

(5) About health and injury information

The Company does not ask you to enter personal information requiring special care under the law (special care-required personal information), such as medical history, injuries, or disabilities. If a user enters such information into AI chat, messages, their profile, or elsewhere at their own discretion, we treat that entry as consent to its collection and handle the information only to the extent necessary to provide the feature into which it was entered.

We recommend that you do not write anything about injuries or health conditions in publicly disclosed items such as the "current challenges" field of your profile (publicly disclosed items can be viewed by all users of the Service).

Article 2 (Purposes of Use)

(1) Purposes necessary to provide the Service

  1. AI analysis of videos, generation of skeletal data, and display and storage of analysis results
  2. Publishing and displaying posts, generating feeds, and displaying search results and recommendations (in displaying recommendations, we analyze usage such as views, follows, and likes)
  3. Sending and receiving direct messages and delivering notifications
  4. Matching with Coaches, and the formation, performance, and management of coaching contracts
  5. Managing Coin balances, processing purchases, grants, and consumption, and managing charges
  6. Creating and managing accounts, login, and identity verification
  7. Responding to inquiries, and communicating about maintenance and important announcements
  8. Responding to reports, detecting and responding to misuse and violations of the Terms, and ensuring user safety
  9. Maintaining and improving service quality (detecting defects, measuring performance speed, analyzing usage)
  10. Informing you of new features, campaigns, and similar matters relating to the Service (delivered by push notification and email; delivery can be stopped in your device and app settings)
  11. Operating the Service through the display of advertising (Article 7(1))

(2) Purposes carried out only with your individual consent

The following four purposes of use are carried out on the basis of individual consent. Even if you do not consent, you can still use the basic functions of the Service.

Category Description How consent is obtained
Provision to Coaches Allowing a Coach you have contracted with to view private videos and analysis results When you send videos or other materials to a Coach through your own actions, we treat this as your consent to providing them to that Coach (Article 4)
Use of skeletal data for analysis Using skeletal data to improve the accuracy of the analysis algorithms Except where used as statistical information that cannot identify individuals, we will not do this until we have obtained your consent
Research use Using statistically processed data in joint research with universities and research institutions Same as above
Personalized advertising Displaying advertising tailored to your interests based on advertising identifiers You can stop this at any time through your device settings (Article 7). It is not delivered to users under 13 years of age or users whose date of birth is unknown

Use of skeletal data for analysis and for research: These uses will begin only after we have obtained the explicit consent of the user (or of the parent or other legal representative, if the user is under 16), separately from consent to this Policy. We will not carry them out until consent has been obtained. Consent can be withdrawn at any time after it is given, and upon withdrawal the Company will stop any new use of the data concerned. However, for data that has already been used, based on consent, to train the analysis algorithms, it may be technically impossible to remove the effect of that specific data from the already-trained model. Even in that case, the data will not be used for any new training after withdrawal.

If you wish to withdraw your consent, please contact the inquiry desk set out in Article 14.

The Company does not use videos, skeletal data, analysis results, or the contents of direct messages for advertising delivery or targeting.

Article 3 (About AI Chat (AI Coach))

The Service includes a feature that lets you consult an AI about baseball concerns and analysis results.

Article 4 (Visibility of Information)

(1) Visibility settings

Posts set to "public" can be viewed by users of the Service regardless of whether they follow you. If you select "private," only you can view the post on the screens of the Service. You can change the visibility of each post at any time.

Limitations of the "private" setting: Due to the way delivery works, the video used for playback and the thumbnail image are placed in a state where anyone who knows their URL can view them. The URLs are difficult to guess, but if a URL is passed to a third party, that person can view the content. Please do not post footage you do not want others to see.

(2) Provision to Coaches

To a Coach with whom you have entered into a coaching contract, what you have sent through your own actions (videos, images, audio, and messages sent in the exchanges tied to the contract, and the analysis results of the videos you sent) is provided.

Under the Community Guidelines, Coaches are prohibited from using this information for purposes other than instruction, taking it outside the Service, or disclosing it to third parties. Coaches are registered after applying through the Company's designated application form and being interviewed by the Company. A Coach's qualifications and career history are based on the Coach's own declarations. The Company does not guarantee all of their contents.

Article 5 (Provision to Third Parties)

The Company does not provide personal data to third parties without obtaining the user's prior consent, except in the following cases. Note that content you post with the "public" setting and disclosed profile items being viewed by other users is disclosure through your own actions, and is separate from the third-party provision addressed in this Article.

  1. Provision to research institutions — Only where you have consented to research use, we may provide data to universities and research institutions. When providing it, we remove identifying information such as full names and email addresses and process the data into a form that cannot identify individuals. We will announce the recipient and the research details in advance within the app
  2. Cases based on laws and regulations (including inquiries based on laws and regulations from the police, courts, and similar authorities)
  3. Cases where provision is necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
  4. Cases where provision is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
  5. Other cases set out in the items of Article 27, paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information

Provision to the police or other relevant authorities where there is a risk of danger to the life or body of a user or a third party is made within the scope that satisfies the requirements of item 3 above.

Article 6 (Entrustment)

The Company may entrust the handling of personal data to external operators to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use. The entrusted services include server and database operation, video storage and conversion, AI analysis processing, and email and push notification delivery. We contractually require contractors to handle data appropriately and exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over them.

Article 7 (Advertising Delivery and Usage Analysis)

(1) Advertising delivery

The Service uses advertising delivery services provided by third parties. When an advertisement is displayed, advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, records of ad impressions and clicks, and similar information are sent directly from your device to the advertising delivery operator. Details of the recipients, the information sent, the purposes, and how to stop transmission are set out in the External Transmission Policy.

Treatment under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information: Advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and similar data are "personal-related information" that cannot identify a specific individual on their own, but it is anticipated that advertising delivery operators will link them with data they themselves hold and obtain them as personal data. In accordance with Article 31 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Company confirms the user's consent to the delivery of personalized advertising through consent to this Policy and through device settings (iOS tracking permission / Android advertising settings). If you do not consent (do not allow tracking), the advertising identifier is not sent and personalized advertising is not delivered.

Personalized advertising (advertising tailored to your interests) can be stopped at any time through your device settings:

Device Method
iOS Go to "Settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Tracking" and turn off permission for this app (the Service displays the tracking permission prompt on first launch, and if you do not allow it, the advertising identifier is not collected)
Android Go to "Settings" → "Google" → "Ads" and select "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

The names and locations of these menus may differ depending on the OS version.

Even if you stop it, advertisements themselves will continue to be displayed (advertisements not based on your interests will be shown).

Consideration for minor users: Based on the registered date of birth, for users under 13 years of age, and users whose date of birth is unknown or unregistered, we apply a setting that does not deliver personalized advertising and restricts the content of advertising to all-ages material. Where the date of birth is unknown, we err on the side of safety and apply the same setting.

(2) Usage analysis

To understand and improve how the Service is used, we send user identifiers, records of screen views and operations, device information, and similar data to external analytics services. When recording screen operations, all text, images, and video on the screen are sent in fully masked form; what you type, the body of your messages, and the video footage itself are never sent. For details of the recipients, see the External Transmission Policy.

Article 8 (Provision to Third Parties in Foreign Countries and Data Storage Locations)

The Company may provide personal data to third parties located in foreign countries as follows.

Recipient Country Information provided
Google LLC United States Authentication information, analysis results and post management information, message attachments, part of the message body (the first 100 characters) and the sender's name contained in push notifications (Article 1(2)), report records, consultation content entered into AI chat and analysis results, usage information, device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, records of ad impressions and clicks
PostHog, Inc. United States User identifiers, usage information, device information, masked screen operation recordings
Apple Inc. United States Authentication information, purchase information

For information on the personal information protection systems of each country, please refer to the website of the Personal Information Protection Commission (https://www.ppc.go.jp/personalinfo/legal/kaiseihogohou/#gaikoku). The Company provides data only after confirming that the recipient has established a system conforming to the standards under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

The Company has entered into contracts with these recipients concerning the handling of personal data in line with the purport of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and periodically confirms the implementation status of the equivalent measures. Information on the contents of the equivalent measures and other reference information will be provided without delay upon the user's request, through the inquiry desk set out in Article 14.

Video data, skeletal data, account information, posts, message body text, and Coin and billing records are stored in data centers within Japan. Some information, such as message attachments, is also stored on the servers of operators outside Japan, as shown in the table above.

Article 9 (Retention Periods)

Information Retention period
Video data, skeletal data, analysis results, account information, posts, profile Until account deletion. Erased without delay after deletion
Message body text and attachments Until account deletion. Even after a delete operation, we may retain them for up to 90 days for recovery and investigation purposes
Report records Retained for 3 years after the response is complete, for prevention of recurrence and auditing, and then erased
Coin, billing, and transaction records The period prescribed by laws and regulations (in principle, 7 years)
Consent records (collection will begin once the mechanism has been implemented; Article 1(3)) After collection begins, 5 years after withdrawal from the Service (an internal standard based on the extinctive prescription under Article 166 of the Civil Code)
Access logs, operation records In principle, 1 year from collection

Article 10 (Handling of Minor Users)

If you are under 16 years of age, the consent of a person with parental authority or other statutory representative is required to use the Service. We ask for your date of birth at registration.

Note that, under the Civil Code, a minor's contract for the use of the Service (including Coin purchases and coaching contracts) requires the consent of a person with parental authority or other statutory representative regardless of age (Terms of Service). The "under 16" threshold in this Article is, in addition to that, the threshold at which the Company asks for a guardian's confirmation regarding consent to the handling of personal information.

About the mechanism for verifying guardian consent: At present, there is not yet a mechanism for verifying a guardian's consent within the app and keeping a record of it. We are working toward its introduction, but the timing is undecided. When we introduce it, we will revise this Policy and explain the method and procedure for verification. Until then, guardians may give notice of their consent by email, using the method described in For Parents and Guardians. The Company will keep the email received as a record of consent.

Handling until then: If you are under 16, before registering, be sure to read this Policy and For Parents and Guardians together with your guardian, and use the Service only after obtaining your guardian's consent. In particular, please obtain your guardian's consent before sending videos or other materials to a Coach (Article 4(2)) and before applying for a coaching contract. If a guardian notifies us that they do not consent to the use, the Company will, without delay, suspend the use of the account in question and delete its data. Notices are accepted at the inquiry desk set out in Article 14.

What we ask guardians to check: The Service is an SNS where posts are public by default, and users can exchange direct messages with users they have never met (excluding users aged 13 or younger). Users can also enter into paid coaching contracts using Coins. Please also read For Parents and Guardians and the Community Guidelines.

Article 11 (Users' Rights)

Users (including, for minors, a person with parental authority or other statutory representative) may make the following requests to the Company.

  1. Disclosure — disclosure of retained personal data (including disclosure by electromagnetic record)
  2. Correction, addition, or deletion — where the content is not factual
  3. Suspension of use or erasure — in cases of use beyond the stated purposes or wrongful acquisition, where the data is no longer needed, where a serious leakage or similar incident has occurred, or where there is otherwise a risk of harm to the user's rights or legitimate interests
  4. Suspension of provision to third parties, and disclosure of records of provision to third parties
  5. Withdrawal of consent — for the purpose-specific consents under Article 2(2), at any time (the limitation regarding data already used for training is as set out in Article 2(2))

How to make a request: Please contact the inquiry desk set out in Article 14. After confirming that you are the person concerned (or their statutory representative), we will respond without delay. No fee is charged.

Note that account deletion, changing the visibility of or deleting posts, blocking other users, and reporting posts and users can all be done by you from the app's screens.

Article 12 (Security Control Measures)

To prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal data, the Company takes the following measures.

If a leakage or similar incident occurs: If a leakage, loss, or damage of personal data or a similar incident occurs and there is a significant risk of harm to users' rights and interests, we will report to the Personal Information Protection Commission and notify the affected individuals in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

Article 13 (Changes to this Policy)

When we change this Policy, we will announce the revised contents and the effective date through in-app announcements or other means.

You can review the contents of past versions and the history of revisions in the revision history.
